Women's Scalp Micropigmentation
Women lose their hair as well as men. We often forget this, but we really shouldn’t, as it’s a disorder that is extremely distressing to anyone suffering from it.
But if we move this aside for a moment, whenever we discuss scalp micro pigmentation for women, it’s important to understand that hair loss is different in females than in males.
The most common type of hair loss in women is female pattern baldness. Yet where men tend to lose their locks in zones that are on the top of their scalp, women will find they suffer from a general and allover diffuse thinning.
When scalp micro pigmentation is the chosen treatment to attack this deplorable condition, we will work through the hair, section-by-section providing underlying shading in order to conceal the damage.
It’s a procedure that is extremely effective and also one that is guaranteed to work.
If you’re suffering from female diffuse thinning then contact us here at the clinic and we can talk about your hair loss to work through finding a best-fit solution.
Hair Loss in Women
Hair loss in women happens for a number of reasons. Some of the conditions are temporary, such as postpartum hair loss, other conditions are not so momentary.
One of the most common reasons women will begin to experience diffuse thinning and widening of their parting is female pattern baldness. It’s a female hair loss condition that begins gradually, however it can escalate to extraordinary levels where scalp becomes visible.
Scalp Micropigmentation is the ultimate best friend to this hair loss condition. It treats the problem by working through the existing hairline implanting natural pigments for underlying shading, masking the problem in hand.
There are many different types of female hair loss conditions, of which alopecia is the umbrella term and scalp micropigmentation is a strong contender for a potential solution.
They range from Areata which is patches of hair loss which move across the scalp, Totalis or Universalis which is characterized by a complete hair loss on the scalp and beyond. And traction alopecia which is common in women due to over-styling.
What Is Scalp Micropigmentation For Women?
Scalp micropigmentation is a cutting-edge and contemporary aesthetics procedure which conceals the visual damage that hair loss causes.
It is a non-invasive treatment for women experiencing hair loss. It works using specialized pigments and a machine that is equipped with a microneedle.
The technician will use this machine to implant the pigment in a series of tiny dots, which represent imitation hair follicles throughout the existing hairline.
The result, in the case of diffuse thinning, is to provide shading which sits beneath the hairline, blending together the natural hair colour and visible scalp. The success rate of treatments is phenomenal, which is why this avant-garde procedure is rapidly becoming such a household name.
For any women considering scalp micropigmentation treatment, it’s crucial to be aware that the procedure is a precise science.
Pigment depth is crucial, pigment selection is crucial and also colour selection is complex. The procedure should only be carried out by a fully qualified technician who is trained in skin physiology, colour theory and the complexities of pigment ingredients.

Is scalp micropigmentation the same as a tattoo?
In short yes, it is the same as a tattoo, however it has subtle differences. i.e the technique, needles that are used and the depth we implant the ink.
Does it hurt?
Minimal pain is felt during SMP. Most say 3/10 in comparison to a traditional tattoo. However, everybody’s pain threshold is different. We advise clients to have eaten and drunk well on the day of the treatment. Further information can be found on our pre-treatment forms.
Does the treatment fade or discolour?
Over time (2-5 years) the treatment will naturally fade down, at this point a touch up is recommended. We only use carbon based black pigments so you can be sure the impressions will not turn blue in colour.
How long will it last?
Our treatment will usually last anywhere between 2-5 years before any touch up is required. The touch up is a quicker procedure in comparison to your initial treatment. Please enquire regarding prices on touch ups.
Will it look real?
Scalp micropigmentation will give you the illusion of that 5 o’clock shadow/buzz cut look. Through training with some of the best artist in the world rest assured that our finish is undetectable.
How long does it take?
Our treatment times generally last from 2-4 hours depending on the condition of the scalp and the area that needs covering.
How long will the redness last?
Everybody’s skin type is slightly different but we usually say 24-72 hours. Please follow post treatment guidelines.
